Background
I grew up in McDonough, GA as the oldest child. My grandfather grew up in Georgia as Southern Baptist, but converted to the Church after meeting my grandmother who is from New York. I went to St. John the Evangelist for K-8, and I attended high school at Holy Spirit Preparatory.
What are your hobbies and interests?
Playing piano and organ are two of my favorite hobbies. I also like to read philosophy and literature very much.
What is one of your favorite scriptures?
“And the Virgin’s name was Mary” (Lk. 1:27).
Who is your favorite saint and why?
Apart from Our Lady and St. Joseph, St. Elizabeth of the Trinity is one of my favorite saints due to the Lord giving her to me as a friend and sister, one who helps me in times of distress. She was also a pianist.
In a nutshell, what is your vocation story? How did you feel called to the priesthood?
Our Blessed Mother and prayer. That is my vocation story in a nutshell. I slowly by slowly felt more drawn to the seminary simply because the Rosary and the Blessed Sacrament were part of my life. Of course, there were other instrumental people like my grandfather, who helped me on the way.
What is seminary life like for you?
It has been the best years of my life. The Lord has done marvels for me and in me. Living in a community oriented towards the Lord and His Priesthood has been very healing and grace-filled. Yes, it is difficult and busy, but the Cross is always the place of grace. It’s also been a very fun and joyful time.
What do you look forward to about being a priest?
Accompanying people on their journey towards holiness, whomever the Lord asks me to serve at any given time. I desire to help others to fall in love with Him, His Blessed Mother, and His Will through His Bride the Church and through prayer.
